Having successfully applied catalytic coatings to the core of its high-temperature heat exchanger technology, Hiflux is looking to expand into the field of ammonia cracking, especially for applications in mixed hydrogen/ammonia combustion. Hiflux’s unique pin-plate structure provides a combination of proven robustness at high temperatures and pressures, with a large amount of surface area in a compact package. This allows for addition of heat simultaneously with catalyst-enhanced conversion of ammonia to hydrogen. In-house capabilities exist for predicting reaction rates and performance given appropriate catalyst performance data.
