Hiflux has developed an automated manufacturing process that is modular and adaptable. Special purpose machines are used to achieve the large number of high quality welds required. Extensive use is made of advanced manufacturing technologies such as laser micro-welding and pattern recognition automation.
The heat exchanger design is modular and scalable and can readily be tailored to suit each application, with minimal changes to the tooling. This allows heat exchangers to be sized for a wide range of powers, from a few watts up to hundreds of kilowatts. Heat exchangers can be manufactured using a range of materials, including nickel alloys, stainless steel and copper. A particular feature of the design is the ability to use mixed materials in the heat exchanger, confining expensive aerospace materials strictly to regions where they are required.
Hiflux backs up its manufacturing with operational and materials test programmes, in collaboration with top academic institutions and is ISO 9001:2008 registered for the design and manufacture of compact heat exchangers and thermal management equipment.
